The Enos & Sarah DeWaters Art Center, now known as the Flint Institute of Arts, was designed by Smith, Hinchman & Grylls of Detroit, Michigan. Mr. DeWaters donated the funds for construction of the building in 1955, which is named in memory of his wife. The building was completed in 1958.
