Kenneth C. Black Associates was founded in 1913 by Lee Black. Lee’s son Kenneth joined the firm in 1932, and “upon Lee Black’s retirement in 1958, additional principals were admitted, the firm was reorganized,” and the name of Kenneth C. Black Associates, Inc. was adopted.
The offices of Kenneth C. Black Associates were located in Suite 715 of what was previously known as the Stoddard Building, which the firm designed. Located at the corner of South Capitol Avenue and West Allegan Street in downtown Lansing, Michigan, and now known as the Billie S. Farnum Senate Office Building, the former Stoddard Building currently houses the offices of the Michigan State Senate.
