Buckminster Fuller did not design the Longway Planetarium geodesic dome screen. TC Howard of Synergetics, Inc in Raleigh, NC did. TC Howard is both a licensed architect and a licensed engineer. Buckminster Fuller held the patent rights to the geometry for geodesic domes. He co-founded Synergetics, Inc but did not design any of the domes. TC Howard also helped Bucky design the Ford Rotunda Geodesic dome in 1952-53. Bucky was not a licensed architect; he was a theorist, an inventor, a writer, a lecturer, and a comprehensivist.
