One Response to R. Buckminster Fuller

  1. Buckminster Fuller did not design the Longway Planetarium geodesic dome screen. TC Howard of Synergetics, Inc in Raleigh, NC did. TC Howard is both a licensed architect and a licensed engineer. Buckminster Fuller held the patent rights to the geometry for geodesic domes. He co-founded Synergetics, Inc but did not design any of the domes. TC Howard also helped Bucky design the Ford Rotunda Geodesic dome in 1952-53. Bucky was not a licensed architect; he was a theorist, an inventor, a writer, a lecturer, and a comprehensivist.
