Clarke E. Harris

Clarke Edgar Harris was born in Maple Park, Illinois, in 1906. He received his degree in architecture from the University of Michigan in 1929 and work professionally in various offices in both Oklahoma and Michigan before joining the Warren Holmes Company in 1935. Like many other men in the late 1930s and early 1940s, Harris spent two years serving his country during World War II. When his service ended he returned to the Warren Holmes Company, becoming a principal of the firm in 1944. Harris received the Grand Award from the Western Michigan Chapter of the AIA for his design of the Bryant School in 1952.
